Crane-Assisted Tree Removals

What is a Crane-Assisted Tree Removal?

Tree removals can be a difficult task for tree service companies. It requires skill and precision to remove a tree safely and efficiently. That is why many tree service companies are turning to crane assisted removals to get the job done quickly and safely.

Crane assisted removals involve using a crane to lift and move the tree, allowing it to be removed with minimal disruption or damage. This method of removal is becoming increasingly popular as it allows for faster, safer, and more efficient removal of trees in difficult-to-reach locations.

By using crane assisted removals, tree service companies can provide their clients with a safe and efficient way of removing trees from their properties without having to worry about any potential hazards or damage that could result from traditional methods of removal.

Reasons to use a Crane for Tree Removals

We receive many estimate requests for trees that could potentially damage a home, fences, power lines, and more. Tree removals using a crane are ideal for removing trees in unsafe and hard to reach places, wooded lots, multiple trees and larger tree removals. Dead or dying trees increase the risk of a tree or branches falling, especially during a storm. Often the trees are located in tight and hard to reach places. They also tend to be quite large. To ensure a safe removal, our tree service offers crane-assisted tree removals. Cranes are highly mobile and stable. They are perfect for tree removals because of their ability to reach great lengths and tilting at a wide range of angles.

What is the process of using a crane for tree removals?

If a driveway or road is not an option to secure the crane, we begin our process by placing mats for the crane to drive onto, preventing lawn damage. Once parked, our ground crew will level the side outriggers to secure the crane in place. After the crane is secure, the operator will lift our tree climber to the top of the tree. Each section is then braced and connected to the crane's cables. Our climber will then move below the secured section and use a chainsaw to remove that part of the tree.

Once the tree climber confirms that the tree section is ready to be lifted, the crane operator will lower it to a designated location on the ground. Our ground crew helps guide it close to our wood chipper then removes the cables. Next, using chainsaws, our team will cut the tree into smaller pieces so that our mini excavator can move the tree pieces into our wood chipper. The debris is then taken to local compost for mulch.

After the Tree Removal

Once the tree is removed, the stump remains. Per request, we can grind the stump using our stump grinder. Our ground crew clears all debris from the property. We’ll then lay topsoil and seed down for grass regrowth if you like. On average, grass growth will take 2-4 weeks.

How much will the tree work cost?

One of the most common questions we get asked is the cost of having tree work done. The cost of tree work depends on a number of factors, such as:

  • The machinery and equipment needed to remove a tree, trim a tree, clear a lot, or other services
  • The time the tree work will take
  • The complexity of the job and size of the tree(s)
  • How many employees are needed for the job

Ultimately, our arborists cannot quote any tree service without seeing the job in question. However, we are happy to schedule an estimate at no cost to you.
